  Beamis sat on top of the lid, grinning, while Tom and McCoy screwed it down.

  "Let's go," McCoy finally said. "We'll leave him like that for awhile and then call someone to let him out."

  "Yeah, but we'll let him sweat in there first," Beamis said.

  The three men left the coffin inside Green Fields Mortuary and walked through the cool night air toward the waiting hearse. McCoy slapped Tom on the back. "You've got what it takes, pal. Guts."
